03/31/21 A Couple Days of Management...

A bright spot. Last month, I spent hours on the phone to start my prescription with Novartis. (This is likely due to the storm in TX that hamstrung the state.) Monday, I received a text, "Your prescription is due to be refilled. Text YES if you want to proceed and NO if you don't." The rest of the prompts were standard; I am happy to report that in no time, I was able to refill my Mekinist. It arrives Wednesday.

Monday, I also visited my dentist to review my mouth. The sores are mostly cleared up, save for a small ulcer. In general, he is happy with the health of my mouth. I have appropriate saliva production and don't have anything that causes alarm. In general, my side-effects are normal for chemo. As I anticipated, he suggests hygienist visits every four months.

And, today, Tuesday, I went to my dermatologist. He too is not too concerned about side effects, although he recognizes the acneform rash causes some aesthetic frustration and discomfort. He also recognizes that I don't want the rash to get rolling and become unmanageable. He suggested adding two other skin cleansers for the shower - alternating the days I use them. I check back with him in six weeks, which will be three months since I started treatment or 96 days.

No need to see photo updates of mouth ulcers or a rash!
