The second week of radiation is in my rearview mirror, and today marks the Start of Week 3, Day 11. Last week’s appointments included a neuro-oncologist, a radiation-oncologist, and an endocrinologist. Add in two blood draws because the phlebotomist forgot to do one of the orders, so I got stuck in each arm, and you get the picture.

We are expecting the radiation will compromise or kill my pituitary glad, so we are making plans for if that happens. This means weekly draws to check my hormones. As I get deeper into this, my care team has grown.

With Week 2 of treatment behind me and only minor headaches from brain swelling, we are pressing to Week 3. Abbey and Patrick have been knocking themselves out to get the in-law apartment done, especially the wet bath, in case I have mobility problems in the final weeks of treatment or in the month-or-so after.
